- Like the eclipsed sun pictured below, I often feel that what I have tried to express on this page is but a faint outline of what we are to some day see clearly.
“No Man Knows the Day or Hour”
Page Overview: I believe, one of the important ideas that we need to observe through studying Gods Word, is that the examples given to us through the written accounts of the life experiences of the individuals, tribes and nations, are experiences that form a pattern that is to be followed by people today. I hope you will agree, that when the pattern of these experiences is understood, it will be possible for us to recognize Gods eternal plan for our lives today.
HisStory – Told in the lives of men.
. . . . .
. . .
From space, astronauts see earth as a peaceful blue green ball with ever changing white cloud patterns. To look at it, you would never think that it is the home of millions of life forms; from micro organisms; small blue green algae; with creatures of all shapes and sizes up to large elephants on land and hump back whales swimming in the sea. Let’s not forget to mention the very special life form – Man. Of all living things on earth, man seems to be the only one who worries much about the history of where he has been, and perhaps even more than that, about his future and where he is going! . . . . . . . . .
So here we sit on earth, concerning ourselves over issues of global warming, world drought, ozone depletion, skin cancer, natural childhood diseases, drug abuse, mass-murderers, earthquakes, and man made conflicts. And if that is not enough to worry about, we have the threat of an all consuming thermal nuclear extinction always looming in the background . . . . . . . . .
So if that keeps us awake at night we might just sit out in the front yard and gaze up into the starry sky, “peace at last!”.
Hello . . . what’s this?
Could one of those small twinkles of light in the Northern sky be an Asteroid the size of Iceland, hurling through space to deep impact us into the next ice age?
-
Oh Lord where can we find Peace? .
Perspective is everything!
Early in September, 1999 a fire raged in the mountains of San Bernardino County, California, filling the sky for miles around with smoke and ash. For thousands of people at a distance from the blaze, apart from the irritating smoke, the distant flames seen dancing on the horizon of the Mountainside had a strange captivating effect.
For those of us living at the foot of the mountain the effect was entirely different!
Weeks earlier, I knew that the tumbleweeds needed to be cleared away, but no! it was easer to just put it off, . . . . . . ” later” I said.
As my wife and I drove the 17 miles from the west end of the Victor Valley to our home to gather a few of our personal belongings, although all along anticipating that we might receive an evacuation order, we really didn’t believe our home was in any real danger. Arriving home the smoke was much heavier than it had been the previous 4 days of the mountains burning. With out any hesitation we went to work as fast as we could to clear tumble weeds from our fences, water down the trees, collect the dog, two cats, and our lop eared bunny Benjamin, and I might add far fewer personal belongings than we had hoped. We were then forced to leave our home, not by firefighters pulling hoses from their truck, standing by to protect our home, but rather like in a bad dream, by a 6-foot tall wall of flame.
The scene looked like a company of men running down the ridge less than 100 yards away coming straight for our home. By the time we fumbled for the keys, started our engines and headed down the driveway, the flames had jumped the drive behind us and was circling our house. We paused at the bottom of our driveway . . . . . still no fire trucks, I wanted to go back up to fight the fire but the flames would not let me. The Police came and forced us further and further away, till finally we sat a mile away seeing only fire and smoke where home and our neighbor’s homes stood at risk. . . . (Hours later after the smoke cleared our prayers were answered. Our home was safe, minus the fence and some trees.)
However the moral to this personal account may be simply stated as: “Do not put off till later what is best done today!”
The purpose of this article is to present a personal observation from the pages of Holy Scriptures that asks a conclusion from the reader.
Among the worlds literary works the Holy Bible is one of the oldest. Whether the Bible Characters presented in this article are perceived as “literal” or “literary” the significance of their stories still demands a decision. Most religions of the world believe that God is the Father of all mankind. And if history does repeat its self, then as we hear God tell us HIS STORY through the pages of Scripture, we may conclude, that if we are told the same message over and over again then it must be a message meant for us to understand.
My thought here is that the important repeated pattern of the first and second born revealed in Genesis and seen demonstrated in the lives of men and nations, and ultimately in each individual, clearly illustrates the eternal importance of our second spiritual nature ruling over our first mortal nature in determining our chosen path to Eternal Life. ” . . . I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life that you and your offspring may live, . . .” ( Deuteronomy 30:19 )
Questions:
In Exodus 4:22 The LORD said :Israel; ” Israel my son, My first born: ” If here He is referring the nation of Israel as His first born , what group of people would God call his second born?________________________
(Gentile, Believers ” joint heirs with Christ ” ROM. 8:17)
We read of the First Adam in Genesis, what New Testament Person is called the “Last Adam” the Son of promise, holding the Inheritance, born of a virgin at the appointed time?___________________
(Jesus, as the “Last Adam” 1 Cor 15:45)
“Don’t put off till later. . . . what you should do NOW !
Like the Scripture suggests: 2 Chronicles 20:17 ” . . . . set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, . . . . . . . : fear not, nor be dismayed;” .
As most instructors of speech would say: “Tell them what you are going to tell them . . . . ; then Tell them . . . . ;, and then tell them what you Told them. Then you might hope that they may remember what you said”. This takes on a deeper meaning when we start at the beginning of HIS/STORY , and realize that GOD wasn’t just repeating the same old story, over and over again, just because HE had forgotten that it had been told before.
You have heard the old saying ” Can’t see the forest for the trees! ” Well I have posted this page on the internet to suggest the idea that in Bible study we often “miss the simple facts for the multitude of details”. More than 20 years ago the thought came to me to symbolically stand at different distances from the Holy Bible and “scan” the Bible terrain for repetitive patterns and reoccurring events..
Like the giant Red woods, and the mighty Oak trees, as they link to the earth, sky, and each other. I believe that each Bible Personality has a story to tell of his own. Bible scholars have spent hours preaching, and reams of paper writing, about the details of each significant Bible characters life experiences. Which is as it should be.
The very fact that the Holy Bible is one of the oldest written Books in existence in the world today, is reason enough for any one to read it for the wealth of historical value. For all those who believe The Holy Bible is the inerrant Word of God, we also find great peace and comfort. . . . . What I hope to do here is spread Bible history out on a large work table, again symbolically, and focus on many of the reoccurring experiences in the lives of the generations after Adam. . . . . Sit with me for a while scanning the horizon of the new millennium and let me share what I have observed recorded in the wide spaces of the Holy Scripture’s.
Thank you for taking the time to check out this page. Please realize that what I have written is a personal “observation” resulting from years of reading the Bible and listening to many great Bible teachers; in person, on the radio, and television. This page has been posted because I believe it “illustrates” among other ideas, the Old Testament inheritance Blessing in a way that I do not recall ever seeing or hearing before. This page contains ideas that I have observed, not created or invented. In Bible terms: ” What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.”, (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
1. FIRST born, gave up, lost, or were disqualified for the inheritance:

And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; And by thy sword shaft thou live, and shaft serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shaft have the dominion, that thou shaft break his yoke from off thy neck.

And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations: and he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh, . . . . . .

2. SECOND or later born of Father and in certain cases the first born of mother. Receiving the blessing or inheritance.
ISAAC: [Gen. 21:2]
But Sari was barren; she had no child. [ Gen. 11: 30 ] Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. [ Gen. 18:14 ] For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
JACOB:
And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren : and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived . And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the Younger. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shaft conceive, and bear a son. Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not ale nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing: For, lo, thou shaft conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazareth unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. OTHER SUBJECT STUDIES:
Genesis |11:6 1:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
GENERAL He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD. (Psalms 113:9}
Sing, 0 barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children ofthe married wife, saith the LORD. Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; [ Isaiah 54:1-2 ]
Mana = what is it? : Infant care; Child protection; Family inheritance;Personal choice; Final judgment; and much Food for thought!
If we carry the pattern over into our individual lives, it is easy to remember when we were first born on earth, do you have a conscience memory of when you had your second birth? (John3:3)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
(John 3:16 – 17)
In Exodus 4:22 The LORD said : Israel (referring to them as a group of people and as a nation); ” Israel my son, My first born: ” Question here is, since GOD has made such a clear example of the inheritance being given to the younger or later born in the lives of HIS early old testament children, can we not expect that HE too, like Jacob, will also bless HIS “Second or Later” born (nation or group of people)?

#2-EPHRAIM YOUNGEST GIVEN BLESSING BY JACOB(GEN.48:14)
When Joseph told his father of his mistake, Jacob’s reply was something to the extent that( I know exactly what I have done, and it is exactly as it should be ).
Again restating the question.
